A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected hit and run incident in Castleconnell village earlier today.
The male was struck by a car in the carpark of SuperValu shortly before midday on Sunday, October 19.
It is understood that the male pedestrian suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a car which drove off at speed.
The injured party was taken to hospital by ambulance.
An Garda Síochána and paramedics attended the scene.
A section of the car park was cordoned off for technical examination.
It is reported locally that the car involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene.
An Garda Síochána has been contacted for comment.
