The announcement generated huge excitement among Limerick supporters, particularly given the band’s strong connection to the city as former University of Limerick students.
Their upcoming album is due for release on April 9, 2027, with the title track set to arrive next Friday, November 13.
Made up of Eddie Keogh, Eoghan McGrath and Eoin Fitzgibbon, Kingfishr have enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent years, establishing themselves as one of Ireland’s biggest musical success stories.
Their breakthrough hit ‘Killeagh’ helped propel them into the national spotlight, while their debut album ‘Halcyon’ further cemented their popularity.
With two major homecoming concerts already planned for Thomond Park in July 2027, today’s surprise visit offered another opportunity for Kingfishr to return to the city where it all began.
