Moyross Link Road and new dual carriageway have officially opened under traffic management arrangements.

The new routes from the Cratloe Road Roundabout to the Knockalisheen Road Roundabout, which includes the newly constructed Moyross Link Road, was opened to traffic on Monday, March 9.

This partial opening of the new road infrastructure will allow for construction on the next phase of work including the demolition and reconstruction of the Ballynanty Rail Bridge, which will be outfitted with new footpaths and cycleways.

Knockalisheen Road is closed to help facilitate these essential works with traffic being diverted to the new Moyross Link Road.

The road will still be accessible to residents of the area. Preparatory works began March 9 with the demolition of Ballynanty Bridge scheduled for March 27 and 28.

As stated in a video Limerick City and County Council released on their social media channels, this is a key milestone on the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Road Distributor Project.

They are currently 13 months into construction with another 12 months ahead of them.
