Two new Local Link bus routes launched this week. The bus services, the LK13 and LK63 routes respectively, will cover the Shanagolden to Newcastle West, and the Kilmallock to Kilfinane routes.
The TFI announced, “TFI Local Link Limerick Clare has amended our LK13 Shanagolden to Newcastle West Service beginning Wednesday 1st October 2025.”
Passengers of the LK13 bus will avail of a service that provides two journeys a day, Monday to Friday, across Shanagolden, Askeaton, Rathkeale, Ardagh and Newcastle West.
The LK13 will also be accompanied by another route, the LK63, which embarked on its first journey on Friday.
“The LK63 service will launch on Friday, 3rd October 2025 and will offer three return services every Friday and Saturday evening connecting Kilmallock, Bulgaden, Martinstown and Kilfinane”, TFI added.

The news is set to be welcomed by those in the Limerick/Clare area, where calls for the development of Local Link services have been heard for some time. In particular, a number of student commuters will reap the benefits of the new routes.
Those with any queries about the new services are asked to contact the TFI Local Link Limerick Clare office by phone, at 069 22311 or 087 9374148, and via email, limerickclare@locallinklc.ie
