Both UL Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cup sides have learnt their opponents for the upcoming competitions, following the draw which was made this afternoon.
The defending champions in the Fitzgibbon Cup have been placed in a group alongside Maynooth and last year’s finalists, DCU. They will welcome Maynooth to Limerick on 7/8 January, 2026, at 7:30. They will travel to take on DCU in Round 2.
Meanwhile, it is a tasty Munster derby for the Sigerson Cup team, who will travel to Bishopstown to take on MTU Cork in Round 1. That fixture is set for 6/7 January.
The winners of that tie will take on the winners of Ulster University and defending champions DCU. The losers will, in turn, face the other losers.
It has been a bright start to the year for Davy Power’s team, who won their first-ever Higher Education Division One Football League title last week, defeating the University of Galway (UG).
