JJ Hanrahan is set to captain Munster for the first time on his 150th URC appearance for the club as they take on the Sharks away in King’s Park this Friday at 15.00.
Clayton McMillan has made six changes for the Round 13 Clash, with Tom Ahern, Alex Nankivell, and John Hodnett all returning from injury and straight into the starting team.
The other changes include Ethan Coughlan, Diarmuid Barron, and Academy player Seán Edogbo. What remains unchanged is the outside backs, with Mike Haley, Calvin Nash and Shane Daly retaining their positions from the last round. Nankivell and Tom Farrell form the centre partnership while Coughlan and Hanrahan combine in the halfbacks.
Michael Milne returns from international duty to join Barron and Michael Al’alatoa in the front row. Ahern and Jean Kleyn combine forces in the engine room while Edogbo, Hodnett and Gavin Coombes complete the pack in the back row.
Lee Barron, Josh Wycherley and John Ryan are named as the front row replacements with Edwin Edogbo, Fineen Wycherley and Brian Gleeson completing the forward cover. Paddy Patterson and Dan Kelly are the backline replacements as part of the 6-2 bench.
Munster will look to challenge once again for the top four position they held earlier in the season when they take on the Sharks, who currently sit 11th in the table.
