Four UL Business Students are breaking the mould and introducing a new event to the student calendar this semester. Milo Cox, Eoin Walsh, Eoin McSweeney and Rory O’Connell came up with the idea for Student Dog Night when realizing that most major student events, such as the races and RAG week, aren’t due to commence until spring.

“We’re organising a Limerick student dog night because we feel there is a massive lack of student events in first semester.”

Keen to use their entrepreneurial skills, the students will be running the show at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Thursday, October 9.

“We’re four final year business students, and we feel organizing this event is an exciting way to implement some of our learnings in college to real life.”

Attendees are asked to follow the dress code of cocktail attire. The event will also feature live music by Lzard, The Blow-In’s, and more.

“As a group we have a passion for greyhound racing, and we want to organize something by students, for students. We also feel that it would be a great chance to introduce the younger generation to the slowing down industry.”

“It’s a great opportunity to get local brands and businesses involved. We are also glad to have the UL Music Society on board.”

The official after-parties of the event, which wraps up at 9:30pm, will be taking place in Angel Lane, Smyth’s Bar, and D’Icon Nightclub.
