The county is currently under two yellow weather warnings with extreme wind, rainfall, and sleet predicted.
Met Éireann has implemented a yellow status weather warning for Limerick, with harsh conditions expected to last until Friday, March 13.
The yellow status wind warning applies to the entirety of Ireland and will remain in place until 6pm this evening. Motorists are urged to take care when driving as fallen trees and debris may make driving conditions hazardous within the Mid-West.
Another yellow status warning regarding snow and ice has been issued by the forecaster for 11 counties including Limerick, Kerry, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, and Wicklow.
Showers may fall as sleet or snow with some accumulations possible, mainly on high ground. This will likely impact travel conditions and decrease road visibility with icy patches likely.
The warning for freezing conditions is in place from 9pm Thursday through to 9am Friday morning.
