COUNTRY music royalty Garth Brooks is heading to the Treaty City for two nights of stadium-sized anthems, nostalgia and a whole lot of singing along.

Aiken Promotions has announced a five-city Irish stadium tour, including two nights at Limerick’s TUS Gaelic Grounds on June 11 and 12, 2027.

For anyone new to the phenomenon, Brooks is one of the best-selling solo artists in American music history.

With hits including ‘Friends in Low Places’, ‘The Dance’ and ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’, the Grammy Award-winning superstar has spent decades turning country music into a global affair.

While Limerick might be preparing to welcome him as a musical heavyweight, Brooks has been here before.

Back in 2021, the singer made an unexpected visit to the University of Limerick, where he enjoyed a basketball game and ended up chatting with fans. Five years later, he is returning with a whole stadium tour in tow.

With Limerick being one of the five cities on the tour, the Irish love affair is far from over. The other cities on the itinerary include Belfast, Galway, Kilkenny and Cork.

Brooks last performed in Ireland during his spectacular five-night run at Dublin’s Croke Park in September 2022, attracting more than 400,000 fans. If those crowds were anything to go by, Limerick is in for quite the country music spectacle.

Whether you know every lyric by heart or simply fancy an excuse to dust off that cowboy hat, one thing is certain: Limerick will have plenty of Friends in Low Places, next June.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 12, at 8am through Ticketmaster.
