The Limerick intermediate camogie semi-final has been ordered to be replayed following an appeal to the county board.

TEMPLEGLANTINE will have to beat Blackrock Effin all over again if they want to reach the county final.

The sides originally faced off on September 19th but could not be separated after extra-time.

The referee, after discussions with county board officials, ordered the semi-final to go to 45s to decide who should progress to the final.

However, the new Limerick club Championship rules state that a match level after extra-time will go to penalties, not 45s.

Templeglantine were victorious in the 45s competition but following the fixture a county board appeal was launched by Blackrock Effin.

The appeal was deemed successful by the Limerick camogie county board, ordering a replay to be played between the sides.

Following this ruling, Templeglantine lodged a provincial appeal to advance to the final without a replay.

The Camogie Association’s Transfers, Hearings, and Disciplinary Committee ruled in favour of Blackrock Effin’s appeal, allowing them a second chance against the West Limerick-outfit.

The replay was quickly rescheduled to Friday at 8pm in Doon with a meeting with Na Piarsaigh in the final on the line.

Following a month since the semi-finals, Na Piarsaigh will finally find out their intermediate county final opponents.

The final will be played this Bank Holiday Monday, October 26th, at 2pm in Adare, giving Friday’s victors just a three-day turnaround.
