A priority window has been provided to Irish golf fans looking to attend the Ryder Cup next year in Adare. The 2027 edition of “golf’s greatest team competition” is also set to be the most expensive one on European soil in its history.

To qualify for the priority window, you must be a resident of the island of Ireland and have registered a Ryder Cup ticket account by midnight on the 23rd of April. The window opens at 11am BST on April 24th, when fans will have access to a limited number of tickets.

The general sale will become active on May 28th, more than a month later, when international audiences will gain access to weekly general admission and The Green daily tickets.

While the ticket price is down from the 2025 edition held at Bethpage Black Course, in New York, they have doubled since the last time it was contested in Europe. The Ryder Cup has been to Ireland once before, in 2006 at the K Club in Kildare.

For many young Irish golf fans, this is their first opportunity to go and experience the event. However, they may struggle to afford the extortionate prices. One student local to the area described the pricing structure as “outrageous” and remarked that many will struggle to pay for the tickets without factoring in accommodation.

Match Day tickets start at €499, so for many, attending just might not be possible. Locals have already began listing their houses as accommodation during the event. Prices have hit astounding heights so far, with some landowners requesting upwards of €50,000 for 7 nights.

The 2025 iteration was heavily criticised for the cost of tickets and refreshments at the event, with tickets starting at €638. With an estimated attendance of 250,000 for the week in Adare, it seems that despite rising costs, people are still willing to pay.

The Irish edition of one of golf’s most famous competitions has been the subject of constant questioning due to the pricing of accommodation around the country ahead of the event. Local residents looking to rent their homes out for the event are quoting prices upwards of €40’000 for the week of the Ryder Cup.
