Welcome, welcome, welcome to another colossal week of (sometimes) cheerful, (barely) competent, and (never) classy craic with Cill’s Cuig. Here’s what I’ll be tucking into on TV this coming weekend.
Athy V Portarlington, Saturday 2.00, Clubber TV
Surely you knew this was coming first, right?
If you know me at all, you know Athy’s Leinster semi-final date with Laois champions Portarlington was going to make an appearance in this week’s CC. With the prize of a Leinster final at Croke Park, this local derby is sure to be spicy.
It would be both clubs’ first Leinster final if they were to triumph in Newbridge on Saturday.
The usual suspects are in great form for Athy. Conor Doyle, Colm Moran, Sean Moore, and Brian Maher were excellent in their quarter-final win over Summerhill, while the likes of Jake Foster are in flying form for Portarlington.
Ballygunner V Eire Og Ennis, Sunday 3.00, TG4
Having won the Munster title a staggering five times since the turn of the century, Waterford powerhouses Ballygunner look to make it six against Clare’s Eire Og Ennis, who contest their first final in 35 years.
While the Clare side’s double aspirations were quashed last week by Cork champions St. Finbarr’s in the football semi-final, their hurlers remain in the hunt for their first-ever Munster title.
They’ll be confident, boasting the likes of 2024 Hurler of the Year Shane O’Donnell in their ranks. They will come in as underdogs against Jason Ryan’s men at Semple Stadium.

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos V Brisbane Lions, Saturday 8.45am, TG4
The Arden Street Oval is the venue for Saturday’s AFLW Grand Final between the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos and the Brisbane Lions this Saturday.
TG4 has shown many of this year’s AFLW games, due to the massive cohort of Irish players on display.
In total, there will be seven players flying the Irish flag in Saturday’s showpiece in Melbourne. Vikki Wall, Bláithín Bogue, Erika O’Shea, and Niamh Martin all play for the NMTK, while Orla O’Dwyer, Jennifer Dunne, and former Athy star Neasa Dooley will represent Brisbane.
(Yes, I had to get the Athy Reference in. I like Athy, okay? Deal with it.)
Editors note: What even is this anymore?
Roma V Napoli, Sunday 7.45, TNT Sport 1
Irish striker Evan Ferguson notched his first goal in Giallorossi colours during the side’s 3-1 win at Cremonese on Sunday afternoon, and he’ll be looking to start a run when Roma host league champions Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.
Just two points separate table-toppers Roma and Antonio Conte’s Napoli in third, so the winner in Sunday’s showdown could end the month of November top of Serie A.
Chelsea V Arsenal, Sunday 4.30, Sky Sports Premier League
Arsenal make CC for the second week running. Their title credentials will get tested again at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
It was a fantastic weekend for Arsenal. Their 4-1 North London derby win over Spurs, coupled with Manchester City slipping up at Newcastle, puts them six points clear at the summit of the league.
Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Burnley sent them up to second. Yet an Arsenal win could extend the gap to nine points entering the festive period. It should make for a great watch on TV.
